NEW STP-8 / STP-5S LOUDSPEAKER SYSTEM

Robust performance in a compact, easily transportable form factor

 

Council Bluffs, IA – February 2013… Grund Audio Design, a pioneering manufacturer of loudspeaker and signal processing products for the audio professional, is pleased to introduce the new STP-8 / STP-5S loudspeaker combination. Designed as a loudspeaker pair consisting of a pole-mounted ‘top box’ and a subwoofer, the new STP-8 / STP-5S form a compact, portable sound reinforcement solution ideally suited to DJ’s, bands, houses of worship, and a myriad of other applications where the ability to quickly and easily set up a robust sound system is essential.

Designed to be pole mounted over the STP-5S subwoofer, the Grund Audio Design STP-8 loudspeaker utilizes an 8-inch low frequency (LF) transducer that is mated with a 1-inch high frequency (HF) compression driver to form a compact, 2-way design providing exceptional speech intelligibility and music reproduction characteristics. This enclosure is rated at 300 watts (program) at 8 Ohms. The enclosure includes a pole cup for convenient mounting and incorporates a pair of handles to ensure easy transport.

With the ability to support 500 watts (program) at 8 Ohms, the Grund Audio Design STP-5S subwoofer utilizes a horn-loaded 15-inch transducer in a surprisingly compact enclosure that measures 22.75-inches by 14-inches by 26.75-inches (H x W x D)—making this subwoofer able to fit in very compact vehicles. With its four casters, the enclosure can easily be moved by one person. Like the STP-8, the STP-5S subwoofer incorporates a pair of handles for easy transport.

As a system, the Grund Audio Design STP-8 loudspeaker and STP-5S subwoofer produces frequencies that range from 50 Hz – 18 kHz. As such, this versatile sound reinforcement system is ideal for both music and general sound reinforcement applications. The system, which includes two of each loudspeaker models plus two poles for top box mounting will be available at a reduced price compared to the pricing for individual loudspeakers.

Both the Grund Audio Design STP-8 and STP-5S loudspeaker enclosures are manufactured here in the United States and feature multi-layer pine wood that is solidly braced for cabinet rigidity. The exteriors of each enclosure are covered with an easy care, durable black carpet finish that looks great, is easy to clean, and retains its appearance for years.
